Council of Members 2026/2027 Extraordinary Election Process
Online, 20th of June 2026
Dear Representatives and Participants,
Welcome to the discussion website of the Council of Members 2026/2027 Extraordinary Election Process.
The Council of Members (CoM) is the second-highest political body of CDN and ensures continuity of political action and decision-making between sessions of the General Assembly. As the Council of Members and its procedures were introduced through the newly adopted Internal Rules of Procedure (IRPs) during the General Assembly 2026 in Riga, the election process could not be organised during the General Assembly itself. Therefore, an extraordinary transitional procedure is being conducted in accordance with Resolution R-INT1.
Through this process, the Council of Members will select two Co-Chairpersons, the Chairing Member Organisation, and the Annual Agenda for the 2026/2027 mandate.
For the 2026/2027 mandate, the political focus of the Council of Members will be biodiversity. Accordingly, Annual Agenda proposals are expected to be connected to the overarching topic of biodiversity while incorporating all pillars of the CDN Political Platform: democracy, foreign policy and security, climate and environment, economy, and social rights.
Check the Council of Members page for more details regarding the positions, responsibilities, timeline, annual agenda proposals and the extraordinary election procedure - HERE.
This website serves as a tool for representatives and candidates to review documents and materials, submit candidacies and agenda proposals, register representatives, and follow the election process.
